Authentic Flavour in the Heart of Burano
OUR STORY
About us
We are a young couple with many years of experience in restaurants and three wonderful children.
Thanks to our experience and passion, we know how important it is — especially on holiday — to find a place where you can enjoy tasty traditional dishes, fresh seafood, good wine, and feel at home while relaxing for a few hours.
We chose to open our restaurant in a quiet and picturesque part of Burano, on one of the island’s most authentic canals, still lived in by local residents.
Away from the crowds and noise of the centre, but just a short walk from Piazza Galuppi, we work every day to offer the true beauty and tranquillity of old Burano.
Our mission is to welcome you with dishes that everyone will love—adults and children alike—in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere.
We are supported by a fantastic team with many years of experience and a real passion for hospitality.
We look forward to making you feel at home in one of the most charming places in the Venetian lagoon.

Ristorante Da Forner
The Welcome
We welcome every guest warmly and naturally, whether you choose our outdoor terrace or our air-conditioned dining rooms. We aim to create a relaxed and genuine atmosphere, where everyone can truly feel at home. Our mood is simple but attentive, truly local, far from the formality of tourist restaurants.
The Cuisine
Our kitchen is born from our passion for fresh fish, bought every day according to the season and the traditions of the lagoon. We offer dishes that bring out the authentic flavours of Burano and Italian cuisine, always thinking about the needs of the whole family: traditional recipes and delicious local specialties.
The Location
Our restaurant is on one of the most authentic canals of Burano, still home to local residents, away from the noise and crowds of the island’s centre. Here, you can enjoy the real local atmosphere, with a beautiful view of the canals, the quiet of peaceful streets, and the charm of Burano’s famous colours.
The Passion
We run our restaurant with passion, together with a skilled team. This means attention to detail, friendly service, professionalism, and honest advice on dishes and wines. At the same time, we are just a short walk from Piazza Galuppi and the ACTV public waterbus stop: comfort and tranquillity.
The Enchantment
Burano is a magical island floating in the lagoon, where time seems to slow down. The brightly coloured houses, the quiet canals, the leaning bell tower, and the art of lace-making create a special atmosphere of beauty, peace, and tradition.
Burano is one of the most picturesque gems of the northern Venetian lagoon, famous for its brightly coloured houses, its old fishing traditions, the delicate art of lace-making, and its iconic leaning bell tower.
The vibrant colours of the houses amaze every visitor, offering unique and unforgettable views. Walking through the narrow streets and along the canals, you feel like you’re in a place out of time, where every corner tells a story and every colour seems chosen to surprise and enchant.
Lace-Making
Burano lace is a centuries-old craft, born in the 16th century and known for its extraordinary delicacy. Each piece is handmade, the result of patience and skill passed down through generations — a true symbol of elegance and island tradition.

The Colorful Houses
The colourful houses of Burano, painted in bright and lively shades, are one of the island’s most iconic features. According to tradition, fishermen painted them so they could find their homes easily in the thick lagoon fog. Today, these colourful facades create a unique, fairy-tale landscape.
